This project was a long-term collaboration with a client from Colombia
and took several months to complete. By the end, both the client and I were very
satisfied with the results. The client initially reached out for help with editing
raw images of their rugs. My task was to retouch and color-correct each photo to
create a consistent, professional look suitable for their website.
Aspendos
Rug Catalogue
What and How?
There were over 130 rugs to edit, and one of the biggest challenges we faced was
ensuring color accuracy. Since I was not physically present to see the rugs in person,
achieving the correct tones required multiple rounds of adjustments. The client helped
by sending reference photos taken in natural light at their shop, which guided the color
correction process until we achieved the desired accuracy.
After completing the photo edits, the client requested an additional project: creating a
catalogue featuring 80 of their most popular rugs. They wanted each rug to be presented in
a realistic living room setting that reflected a cozy, lived-in feel and matched the color
palette of each design. Finding the right interior backgrounds was a challenge, so I used
AI to generate over 150 potential living room scenes. From there, I carefully selected the
most suitable ones and photoshopped each rug into place, one by one with Adobe Photoshop,
to ensure the proportions and patterns remained true to life.
Once the imagery was finalized, I proposed several catalogue layout options. After reviewing
them with the client, we settled on a design direction and began fine-tuning the details. Over
the following weeks, we worked closely to make adjustments until the final catalogue was complete
and ready to be shared with their customers.
This project required patience, precision, and adaptability, but seeing the finished catalogue come together made every step worthwhile.
